You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies. You anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows (Psalm 23:5).
It’s no secret that I’m addicted to yam. Just a general foodie if I’m being frank. So in the beginning I took this scripture to mean a feast of everything I’ve ever dreamed of.
Ofcourse not just food! The table of success and my incredible shoe collection. My walk in wardrobe especially for my perfumes…you get the general idea.
So when life gets tough I constantly hear people talking about this amazing table that God is seemingly taking His time to prepare. Cus there’s certainly enough haters, so that table is
You see this table? Yeah. I’m about to shake itttttttt.
I always ask the Holy Spirit to guide me when I read the Bible in Spirit and in truth and I can only do that through revelation from Him. (This is the oil my cup overflows with- His wisdom and guidance, outpouring through the Holy Spirit..) It then clicked exactly what this table is. It then dawned on me, the feast is ready to be consumed!!
Psalms speaks of “eating the bread of wickedness and drinking the wine of violence” (Proverbs 4:17)
And it clicked immediately what this feast was. Can you guess?
“Give is this day our daily bread” Matthew 6:11
This is my body, which is given for you. Do this in remembrance of me.” And likewise the cup after they had eaten, saying, “This cup that is poured out for you is the new covenant in my blood. Luke 22:19-20
Yup. I kid you not this life is the easiest test we’ll ever have. The answer is ALWAYS Jesus.
For everything, absolutely everything, above and below, visible and invisible, rank after rank after rank of angels – everything got started in him and finds its purpose in him. He was there before any of it came into existence and holds it all together right up to this moment. And when it comes to the church, he organizes and holds it together, like a head does a body. So spacious is he, so roomy, that everything of God finds its proper place in him without crowding. Not only that, but all the broken and dislocated pieces of the universe – people and things, animals and atoms – get properly fixed and fit together in vibrant harmonies, all because of his death, his blood that poured down from the Cross. You yourselves are a case study of what he does. At one time you all had your backs turned to God, thinking rebellious thoughts of him, giving him trouble every chance you got. But now, by giving himself completely at the Cross, actually dying for you, Christ brought you over to God’s side and put your lives together, whole and holy in his presence. You don’t walk away from a gift like that! You stay grounded and steady in that bond of trust, constantly tuned in to the Message, careful not to be distracted or diverted. There is no other Message – just this one. Every creature under heaven gets this same Message. (Colossians 1:16-26)
THERES NO BETTER WORDS THAN THIS TRUTH.
If we’re citizens of heaven (Philippians 3:20-21) what is Gods concern with whether my perfume collection can cause another nuclear flood?
Although God if you see this, it doesn’t hurt to ask? PLEASE.
His riches aren’t those of material things but of spiritual things.
His body and blood actualize our victories. They uphold the victories we’ve had and we’re yet to have.
The trick is now “getting tuned into the message” so much so that it becomes practical living rather than fantasy. Trust me, I’m experiencing the reality of his victory! Theres nothing like it.
I say to you that many will come from the east and the west, and will take their places at the feast with Abraham, Isaac and Jacob in the kingdom of heaven. (Matthew 8:11)
The trick is constantly reminding yourself that the feast is in Jesus. So taste and see what the Lord has done. (Psalm 34:8)
